Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The need of the study depends on the outcome of the chemical safety assessment. In a first step, the PNEC sediment is calculated based on the PNEC aquatic using the equilibrium partitioning method as recommended in the "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R10: Characterisation of dose [concentration]-response for environment" (ECHA, 2008). The predicted environmental concentration in the sediment is below the calculated PNEC for sediment dwellers (please refer to chapter 10 of the CSR), and thus, a chronic study with sediment organisms is not needed for a refinement of the PNEC sediment.
