Description of key information

Hydrolysis in water under environmental conditions is not possible due to the chemical structure of the chlorobenzene molecule.

The half-life for photochemical oxidative degradation by OH radicals in the troposphere has been calculated by the AOPWin model to be 7.8 days.

Direct photodegradation in water is not possible because chlorobenzene absorbs sunlight extremely weakly. As well direct photodegradation in soil is not expected.
