Description of key information

DINP is readily biodegradable (81% biodegradatrion in 28 days and meets the 10-day window requirement), based on results from standard ready biodegradation test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

DINP can be considered readily biodegradable having met the strict OECD criteria for this endpoint. DINP is mineralized to carbon dioxide and water, the final degradation by-products. From the degradation kinetics, a half-life of 10.3 days can be calculated.
