Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Conclusion: DINP is minimally volatile.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

DINP vapor pressure is very low, 0.00006 Pa, which suggests very limited volatilization from the terrestrial compartment. In comparison, Henry’s Law constant for DINP is calculated as 41.4 Pa-m3/mole (European Commission, 2003), which indicates that volatilization from water is not expected to occur at a rapid rate, but may occur at a significant rate. DINP can volatilize to air from aqueous environments at a significant rate, but is expected to have limited volatilization from soil, which can in large part be explained by its high Kocvalue.
