ECHA's news item concerning the entering into force of an amendment of Annex I to PIC Regulation

ECHA's e-News published on 30 April 2014 announced that "The European Commission amended the list of chemicals subject to an export notification (Annex I) under the PIC Regulation on 21 February 2014. The amendment applies from 1 May 2014". This announcement was unintentionally misleading.

Registry of Intentions page updated

The Registry of Intentions page on the ECHA website has been updated. It now includes references to the specific regulations and a brief explanation of the process that follows after the successful submission of dossiers.

New CLH submission webforms published on ECHA website

ECHA invites eligible parties to use the new webforms for the submission of harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) intentions and the CLH dossiers. The first webform is for the submission of CLH intentions, which is now open also to dossier submitters who are manufacturers, importers and downstream users. The second webform is for the submission of CLH dossiers online and replaces the current submission procedure.

The CLH webforms are available on the Support section of the ECHA website.

Ninth Stakeholders' Day – registration closed

Online registration for the conference closed on 1 May and ECHA received nearly 300 registrations. If you are still interested in attending, you can send an email to echa-events (at) echa.europa.eu and request to be placed on a waiting list if there are cancellations. Any free places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are unable to attend, the conference will be web-streamed live. A link to the stream will be available 24 hours before the event on the ECHA website.

Topical Scientific Workshop – Regulatory Challenges in Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials

23-24 October 2014, Helsinki, Finland

The workshop aims to bring experts in the field of risk assessment of nanomaterials together to discuss and update scientific principles and guidelines for assessing human health and environmental risks of chemical substances in nanoform.

Article 95 of the Biocidal Products Regulation, which lists the active substances and product suppliers, is one of the last articles of the regulation but it is the starting point for companies to keep their biocidal products on the market. This webinar is intended to give an overview of the status of the preliminary list published by ECHA, on the data requirements and evaluation principles for the submitted dossiers and on the regulatory aspects.
