ECHA is reminding companies that new rules on classification, labelling, packaging and notification of chemical substances came into force on 1 December 2010. For many substances, you need to notify the CLP classification to ECHA by 3 January 2011.

ECHA adds eight substances to the Candidate List for Authorisation
Today, the European Chemicals Agency has added eight chemical substances to the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) for Authorisation. Companies are advised to check the potential obligations that result from this listing.

REACH-IT will be open between Christmas and New Year for CLP notifications

To help industry to submit their CLP Notifications in time, ECHA has decided to keep the REACH-IT system and its Helpdesk exceptionally open from 27 December until 30 December 2010. In addition, the Helpdesk will be open on 3 January 2011 until 17.00 and REACH-IT until 24.00 GMT.
