Biocides definitions now available in ECHA's multilingual database
ECHA-term has been updated with close to 50 scientific definitions related to the new Biocides Products Regulation, which enters into operation in September. Users will also find an additional 31 substances of very high concern extracted from the Candidate List and 37 new terms from ECHA Guidance and other administrative documents. The easiest way to extract information is to search by the exact term, but users can also browse an alphabetical list which is available in all 22 EU languages. The database will be updated to include PIC terminology at a later stage. ECHA's Stakeholders' Day - last month to register
The Eighth Stakeholders' Day conference takes place in Helsinki on 26 March. It focuses specifically on SMEs, in particular member registrants, preparing for the 2013 REACH registration deadline. Guest speakers will present on topics including: chemical safety assessment and Chesar for member registrants; practical tips for substance evaluation; how industry can cooperate in making an application for authorisation as well as a view from NGOs on their role in applications for authorisation.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has launched the Dossier Quality Assistant to help registrants detect potential inconsistencies in their registration dossiers. Registrants are recommended to make use of the tool to proactively update dossiers or check new dossiers before submission to the Agency in order to improve the quality of REACH registrations. The European Chemicals Agency launches a new version of the IUCLID chemical safety report (CSR) plug-in. With the new release, registrants are able to integrate information directly from the Chemical safety assessment and reporting tool (Chesar) to easily create the full chemical safety report. |
