Description of key information

The information regarding biodegradation of CS2 in soil was waived, since the test substance is readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The performance of a biodegradability test in soil with CS2 is irrelevant. Carbon disulfide is not directly emitted to the soil, and contamination will only occur through deposition in the vicinities of CS2 emission sources. Moreover, CS2 is readily biodegradable, and according with the endpoint specific guidance R.7.B, in this case a biodegradability test in soil does not to be conducted.
