Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 October 2003 relating to fertilisers
Scope
This Regulation shall apply to products which are placed on the market as fertilisers' designated 'EC fertiliser'. Definitions: 'fertiliser' means material, the main function of which is to provide nutrients for plants. (Art.2)

Identification (Art. 7) The manufacturer shall provide EC fertilisers with the identification markings listed in Article 9. Traceability (Art. 8) The manufacturer shall ensure traceability of EC fertilisers, maintain records of the origin of the fertilisers. Markings (Art.9) Without prejudice to other Community rules, the packages, labels and accompanying documents referred to in Art.7 shall bear the following markings: (a) Compulsory identification; (b) Optional identification.
