Ready for the new version of REACH-IT?

ECHA/NA/16/21

The update of the dossier submission and communication tool, REACH-IT, will be launched on 21 June. To manage the update, ECHA will close the system one week before the launch, on 14 June at noon (EEST).

Helsinki, 6 June 2016 – The new REACH-IT will be simpler to use and more intuitive, which will particularly help small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) registering their chemicals for the last REACH registration deadline of 31 May 2018. The support material can be accessed within the tool itself allowing users to get targeted help while using the tool.

The new features allow companies to:

  • easily access already submitted information through the ‘substance overview' page.
  • see at a quick glance any deadlines affecting them, for example updates requested by ECHA, through the 'new tasks' page.
  • submit their member registration dossiers online.
  • assess their company size and provide supporting documentation to prove their SME status under REACH.
  • have one user managing registrations for several companies.

The update also enhances ECHA's capability to make sure that no duplicate joint submissions can be created for the same substance and registration type. This is in line with the European Commission's implementing regulation on joint submission of data and data sharing, which ECHA has implemented since its entry into force in January 2016. The new REACH-IT will help potential registrants find their way to the correct joint submission by indicating the contact details of the lead registrant for their substance.

Furthermore, the new version will be linked to ECHA Accounts giving users the possibility to access all ECHA's submission tools (REACH-IT, R4BP 3 and ePIC) through one entry point.

To ensure a smooth transfer to the new version, ECHA encourages all current REACH-IT users to check that their account details are up-to-date.

The changes introduced by both IUCLID 6 and the updated REACH-IT, apply equally to new and updated dossiers. Keep in mind that once the new REACH-IT is available, only dossiers created with IUCLID 6 can be submitted to ECHA.

More information about the new functions and their impact will be available at the time of the release on ECHA's website and through the REACH-IT release notes.
