ECHA will host a webinar in order to help companies to prepare their notifications of Candidate List Substances (Substances of Very High Concern) in articles. The webinar is available to anyone interested in learning more about how to notify such substances successfully.

The webinar takes place as follows:

Date: 19 May 2011
Time: 15:00 Eastern European Time (GMT +2)

Helsinki, 04 May 2011 - Producers and importers of articles must notify to ECHA the substances present in those articles if they are included in the Candidate List. More specifically, the notification should be done if the substance's concentration is above 0.1% and the total quantity is above 1 tonne per producer/importer per year.

Companies shall submit their notification within six months after the inclusion of the substance on the Candidate List. This means that notifications of substances that were on the Candidate List 1 December 2010 have to be submitted by 1 June 2011 at the latest.

During the webinar attendees will receive practical information on how to prepare and submit a notification of a SVHC in articles. Potential notifiers will be explained how to correctly complete a notification using IUCLID5 and to successfully submit it to ECHA using REACH-IT. The webinar is open to anybody interested in this regulatory process, is free of charge and accessible to up to 1,000 participants, on a first-come-first-served-basis.

A recording of the webinar will be publically available on ECHA's website soon after the event.
