Conclusion on classification

Regarding all available data of the acute and/or chronic toxicity tests on aquatic organisms and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (GHS), the substance needs to be classified with respect to acute and chronic ecotoxicity (CLP Acute/Chronic Cat. 3). Hence, an exposure assessment environment is performed.

Hydrolysis product:

Acetaldehyde (CAS 75-07-0) is readily biodegradable. The log Kow is <4. The lowest acute effect concentration is 30.8 mg/L, the lowest chronic value is >> 1mg/L. Based on this information, the substance needs not be classified for the environment.
