Toxicity to soil macro-organisms except arthropods
Chronic data are available for different species of non-arthropod soil
invertebrates. NOEC/EC10values range from
2.6 mg Ni/kg for hatching by Enchytraeus crypticus (Santos et al,
2017) to 1140 mg Ni/kg for reproduction by E. fetida (Ghent
University and Euras, 2005). Below are the
accepted high quality studies for non-arthropod soil macro-organisms
used for derivation of the HC5and terrestrial PNEC:
Selected values for the most sensitive endpoints used for derivation of the terrestrial HC5
Added NOEC or EC10 (mg/kg dw)
Total NOEC or EC10 (mg/kg dw)

Acute toxicity LC50values
range from 52 mg Ni/kg dw forLumbicis terrestris (mortality) to
2,500 mg Ni/kg dw forCaenorhabditis elegans (mortality).
