PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

According to the ECHA guidance on PBT/vPvB assessment (version 3.0, 2017) Speedcure EDB is regarded as being potentially persistent (P) or very persistent (vP), not bioaccumulative (B) or very bioaccumulative (vB) and toxic (T). As the B criterion is not fulfilled, Speedcure EDB is therefore not a PBT or vPvB substance.

Persistence Assessment

The OECD 301B test conducted determined that the substance is not readily biodegradable. Therefore Speedcure EDB is regarded as being potentially persistent (P) or very persistent (vP).

Bioaccumulation Assessment

Based on the log Pow of 3.2 and on the calculated BCFs ranging from 23.17 L/kg wet-wt (using the Arnot-Gobas Method - upper trophic (including biotransformation rate estimates)) to 169.5 L/kg wet-wt (using the Arnot-Gobas Method - upper trophic (assuming a biotransformation rate of zero), Speedcure EDB does not fulfill the bioaccumulative (B) and very bioaccumulative (vB) criteria.

Toxicity Assessment

According to the ECHA guidance on PBT/vPvB assessment (version 3.0, 2017), Speedcure EDB fulfils the toxicity (T) criteria as it is classified as STOT Rep. Exp. 2 / H373 and Repr. 1B / H360.
