Conclusion on classification

TPP is readily biodegradable (83 -94%, 28 d) and a BCF of 144 has been identified. However, referring to the effect concentrations of TPP it has to be classified according to the following reasons:

The most sensitive acute toxicity for TPP is to invertebrates. A LC50 of 0.18 mg/L has been determined for Mysidopsis bahia (96 h). An 96h-LC50 of 0.4 mg/L has been determined for Oncorhynchus mykiss. Depending on this the substance has to be classified as Category Acute 1, H400, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP).

The lowest long-term effect concentration for TPP is the LC10 of 0.0048 mg/L, derived in a study according to OECD TG 234. Depending on this the substance has to be classified as Category Chronic 1, H410, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
