First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

After inhalation: Move victim to fresh air. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.

In case of skin contact: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Change contaminated clothing. In case of skin reactions, consult a physician.

After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. In case of troubles or persistent symptoms, consult an opthalmologist.

After swallowing: Drink large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. Danger of aspiration! Seek medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Burning eyes and skin. Dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, abdominal pain, spasms, apnea.

After inhalation: Mucous membrane irritation, cough, shortage of breath

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treatment: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Extinguishing powder, alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide. water fog

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Flammable. Vapours are heavier than air and will spread at floor level. Vapours can form explosive mixtures with air. In case of fire may be liberated: traces of incompletely burned carbon compounds, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information: Hazchem-Code: 3Y

Do not expose to high temperature. Danger of bursting and explosion. Use fine water spray to cool endangered containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with the substance. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapours. Wear personal protection

equipment.

Environmental precautions

Do not empty into drains. Danger of explosion. In case of release, notify competent authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Soak up with absorbent materials such as sand, siliceus earth, acid- or universal binder. Store in special closed containers and dispose of according to ordinance. Final cleaning.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advices on safe handling: Provide adequate ventilation, and local exhaust as needed. Do not breathe vapours. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. During filling, metering and sampling should be used if possible: Make sure that the processing machines are well equipped with suction and ventilation systems. Do not

use air pressure to deliver.

Precautions against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharge.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storerooms and containers: Keep containers tightly closed and at a temperature between 15 °C and 25 °C. Keep container in a well-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of ignition and heat.

Unsuitable materials: rubber.

Hints on joint storage: Do not store together with food. Do not store together with combustible materials or highly flammable solids.
