Description of key information

Alpha-methylstyrene proved to be stable towards hydrolysis at pH 4, 7, and 9 and 25°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a study conducted by CITI (Japan) according to OECD Guideline 111 (Hydrolysis as a Function of pH), alpha-methylstyrene proved to be stable at pH 4, 7, and 9 at 25°C. The original reference is not available, however, data were peer-reviewed during the OECD/SIDS procedure and therefore regarded as valid.
