Description of key information

The auto ignition temperature of reaction mass of 2,2’-oxybisbutane (DSBE), DIPE, SBA and 2-methylpropan-2-ol (TBA) was determined according to EU A.15 under GLP.
An auto ignition temperature of 425 °C was determined. This value is the lowest value in three independent determinations

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
425 °C

Additional information

The auto ignition temperature of reaction mass of 2,2’-oxybisbutane (DSBE), DIPE, SBA and 2-methylpropan-2-ol (TBA) was determined according to EU A.15 under GLP. The auto ignition temperature (result of determination) is the lowest value from the lowest values of the three experiments (428°C), rounded down to a whole multiple of 5°C. Therefore, the auto ignition temperature is stated as 425°C.

The three lowest values of the main study lay within a range of 20 K (as required for auto ignition temperatures above 300°C).
