Additional information

A study according to OECD 207 was conducted to assess the acute toxicity of furfural to earthworm (Eisenia foetida). A total of 240 earthworms were equally divided into 6 groups: 225; 315; 441; 617 and 864.4 mg/kg dw (4 replicates each containing ten earthworms per concentration). Exposure period was 14 days. Based on the mortality data, the 14 day LC50 was determined to be 406.18 mg/kg dw and the NOEC 225 mg/kg dw.
