EC50 > 10,000 mg/L, ISO 8192 guideline, Müller (1992).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The effect of the test material on the respiration rate of activated sludge was investigated in a GLP study conducted according to the ISO 8192 guideline, which in most parts is similar to the OECD and EU test methods. A defined amount of activated sludge was mixed with synthetic nutrient solution and the rate of respiration was measured. The respiration rate was compared with those measured in assays with different concentrations of the test material. The sensitivity of the activated sludge used was verified with 3.5 -dichlorophenol as a reference substance. The EC50 under the conditions of the study was determined to be > 10,000 mg/L.

The study was performed in line with GLP and to a standard guideline with incomplete reporting or methodological deficiencies which do not affect the quality of the relevant results and was assigned a reliability score of 2.
