Description of key information

The substance is readily biodegradable. The half-life of the substance in soil that was treated with sludge was examined, and the half-life was determined to be 15.3 days.

Additional information

The primary means of the substance degradation in the environment is biodegradation. The substance meets the criteria for ready biodegradation even though it has extremely low solubility in water. Results of the manometric respirometry test indicate the substance biodegrades 64% within 28 days. A simulation study of primary biodegradation in natural river water showed almost complete biodegradation in 42 days (96%). Similarly, a study of the substance in soil treated with sludge demonstrates that the substance degrades rapidly, with a 98% removal rate and half-life of about 15 days.
