Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Name of activity / technique:
W-GES-P[PROC1](Medium) Weighing and filling operations. Acidification of copper metal prior to oxidation: Variation 2: Copper metal is mixed with water in a large tank, to which a specific amount of hydrochloric acid is added. The acid solution is then aerated for 24 hours to oxidize the copper. During this time, the acid has lixiviated the copper oxide and dicopper chloride trihydroxide is formed.
Process category (PROC):
PROC 1: Chemical production or refinery in closed process without likelihood of exposure or processes with equivalent containment conditions
Name of activity / technique:
W-GES-P[PROC2](Medium) Mixing, milling, drying. Acidification of copper metal prior to oxidation: Variation 1: dicopper chloride trihydroxide is generated by reacting copper metal with hydrochloric acid solution in presence of oxygen.
