According to Q(SAR) data using SRC AOP, n-Butyl Acrylate will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes after exposure to the air reacting with the photochemically produced hydroxyl radicals and with ozone (calculated half-life for a 24-hour day and 0.5E06 OH/cm3: 27.96 hours; for a 24-hour day.

In a hydrolysis study conducted by Ricerca Inc. (BAMM 1990), the half-life of n-butyl acrylate in water at pH 11 was determined to be approximately 243 min. Approximate hydrolysis half-life values for pH 3 and pH 7 were 2800 days at pH 3 and 1100 days at pH 7.
