Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

C12-18 alkyldimethyl ammonium chloride is described to be solid.
Executive summary:

For the determination of physico-chemical properties, the solvent was almost completely removed by lyophilisation. The dried test item Di-C12-18 alkyldimethyl ammonium chloride at 20 °C and 101.3 kPa is a white, a little pasty, solid.

Description of key information

solid

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid

Additional information

For the determination of physico-chemical properties, the solvent was almost completely removed by lyophilisation. The physical state of the dried test item Di-C12-18 alkyldimethyl ammonium chloride at 20 °C and 101.3 kPa is white, a little pasty, solid. However, the substance is manufactured and marketed only in solution, thus, the physical state "liquid" was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment to generate more realistic exposure levels within the exposure and risk assessment.
