Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice :
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media :
Foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder extinguishers.
Use suitable means to extinguish neighbouring fires.
Specific hazards :
Possible formation of carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides and hazardous organic compounds.
Specific methods :
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters :
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions :
Use personal protective equipment.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.
Environmental precautions :
Prevent product from entering drains.
Methods for cleaning up :
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Recovery :
Absorb on an inert support (if liquid).
Sweep up and shovel.
Neutralisation :
Wash the floor with copious quantities of water.
Elimination :
Place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see Disposal considerations).
Handling and storage
Handling
Technical measures/Precautions :
Provide water supplies, ocular fountains and showers near the point of use.
Provide a catch-tank in a bunded area.
Wear impermeable insulated gloves when handling hot.
Safe handling advice :
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.
Storage
Technical measures/Storage conditions : Take all necessary measures to prevent accidental spillages of the product from entering into drains and water courses in the event of failure of containers or transfer systems.
Store the hermetically sealed drums protected from the weather in a well ventilated place with electrical installations conforming to regulations and without naked heat sources.
Keep the floor clean.
Packaging material
Recommended : Lined metallic drums.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection : Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in case of release of vapours from heated
product
Hand protection : Impervious gloves
Eye protection :
Safety goggles
Eye wash bottle with pure water
Skin and body protection : Protective suit
Hygiene measures :
Remove immediately soaked or soiled clothing. Wash separately.
Wash immediately any affected parts of the body.
Stability and reactivity
Condition to avoid :
Heat, flames and sparks.
Hazardous reactions :
Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Materials to avoid :
Powerful oxidants, strong acids and organohalogenated compounds.
Hazardous decomposition products :
Possible formation of carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides and hazardous organic compounds.
Disposal considerations
Disposal of product :
The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.
