Description of key information

Vapour pressure according to dynamic method (EU method A.4): 11.2 hPa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
11.2 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Within the reliable key study (BASF, 2001), the vapour pressure was determined for the test item following EU method A.4 (dynamic method). 12 pressure - temperature pairs had been determined and a vapour pressure curve of excellent linearity was obtained.

The applied interpolation showed a low deviation from measurements (mean deviation: 0.11%) and the estimate for the mean error of measurement was also low (0.5%).

Measurements were performed between 12.9 °C and 124.1 °C. From interpolation, the following result for 20°C was obtained:

Vapour pressure (20°C): 11.2 hPa

This is corroborated by a very similar result from the supporting study (OXEA, 2009): The vapour pressure was determined according to DIN EN 13016 -2, and a value of 15 hPa at 20°C was obtained by extrapolation.
