Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VII, Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. As this molecule contains no oxygen, and as it behaves as an inorganic substance, it is not considered to be a risk for explosion. This data meets the criteria of Annex VII. Column 2, and so the testing requirement can be adapted.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Sodium cyanide is not classified as explosive due to the fact that its chemical structure has no oxygen or hydrogen atoms.
