Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annex XI, Section , the testing regime may be adapted because because testing does not appear scientifically necessary. Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 indicates that this test method is applicable to solid substances which can burn. As this substance is a solid which behaves as an inorganic substance, and has no oxygen, hydrogen or halide molecules associated with combustion, the conduct of testing for flammability is not scientifically justified.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Sodium cyanide acts an inorganic substance and has a high melting and boiling point without evidence of flammability. Furthermore, according to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008, sodium cyanide is not classified as flammable.
