Description of key information

Testing is not technically feasible as substance is hydrolytically unstable. Log Kow of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) released from the substance is used in CSA, instead of any estimated value.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
0.05

Additional information

Titanium tetraisopropanolate is hydrolytically unstable. When it comes in contact with water or moisture, a complete hydrolysis will take place with no significant reaction products other than isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and hydrated titanium dioxide (OECD 111). Because of rapid hydrolysis (half-life less than 3 minutes), log Kow of IPA released in water is used as a key value in CSA (peer-reviewed secondary source, Dillingham et al. 1973 and Lide D.R 2008).
