Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test substance is soluble in water and dissociates to morpholinium and toluene-4 -sulphonate. Studies on the adsorption potential of neither the test substance nor its dissociation products are available. However, as the dissociation products both have a very low logPow (< 1), they are expected to have a low potential for adsorption and thus, according to column 2 of the REACh Annex VIII, testing is not required. In order to support this assumption, scientifically acceptable calculations have been performed with either one of the dissociation products.

The logKoc for the uncharged molecule of morpholine has been determined to be 0.866 through calculation with KOCWIN v2.0 (2010). Thus, the molecule is not expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment. A logKoc of 2.05 at pH7 has been calculated for the ionized molecule according to Franco & Trapp using a pKa of 8.49 and a logPow of -0.56 as input parameter. The logKoc for toluene-4 -sulphonate has been calculated to be 1.2 with KOCWIN v2.0 (2013).
