The test substance has the following molecular formula: C6H13NO3. The calculated oxygen balance is –168.5%. This value is within the region where there may be a potential for explosivity, however, there are no plosophores or auxoploses present in the structure.

A DSC analysis was performed using 2.69 mg of L-TEE. There was no evidence of exothermic decomposition.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Based on the chemical structure and associated thermodynamic properties, the explosive properties of L-TEE were evaluated indicating that L-TEE is non explosive.
Executive summary:

The explosive properties of L-TEE were evaluated by consideration of the chemical structure and associated thermodynamic properties.

The oxygen balance (-168.5%) is within the region where a potential for explosion may exist, but there are no potential auxoploses/plosophores present. The DSC analysis does not show any exothermic decomposition.

Considering all findings, the L-TEE is considered non explosive.

Description of key information

Based on theoretical accessment of the chemical structure and thermal properties of L-TEE, the explosive properties have been evaluated indicating that L-TEE is non explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The L-TEE has the following molecular formula: C6H13NO3. The calculated oxygen balance is –168.5%. This value is within the region where there may be a potential for explosivity, however, there are no plosophores or auxoploses present in the structure.

The DSC test was performed using 2.69 mg of L-TEE. There was no evidence of exothermic decomposition. When the exothermic energy is greater than 500 J/g, it is considered that a potential for explosion is present, consequently the absence of an exotherm decomposition indicates that the test substance is non explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results, L-TEE is not expected to have hazardous properties and is not classified according to CLP or DPD for this endpoint.
