Description of key information

Strontium neodecanoate has a low potential for toxicity to aquatic algae since toxicity was not observed up to and above 100 mg/L in a growth inhibition test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
129 mg/L

Additional information

The GLP-conform 72 -h growth inhibition test on freshwater algae according to OECD 201 generated for the growth rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata a NOErC, ErC10 and ErC50 of 100, 129 and >250 mg strontium neodecanocate per litre, respectively [Wenzel, 2015].
