After intracutaneous injection of styrene oxide to guinea pigs, 6 of 11 animals showed a sensitizing reaction after challenge with styrene oxide. These data indicate that the substance should be classified for skin sensitisation. Therefore, further in-vivo testing for sensitisation is not appropriate according to REACH VO Annex VII, 8.3 Column 2.
