Description of key information

According to REACH Annex XI, 1 a study on flammability is scientifically unjustified, as the classification and labelling criteria for flammability of a liquid is determined by the flash point (Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment. Chapter 7a: Endpoint specific guidance, 7.1.10). The substance is not pyrophoric and is not flammable in contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Directive 67/548 EEC as well as GHS Regulation EC No 1272/2008, styrene oxide does not need to be classified with regard to this endpoint and labelling is not required.
