Description of key information

Particle size distribution of the test substance:

< 10 %: 69.27 µm

< 25 %: 131.3 µm

< 50 %: 213.6 µm

< 75 %: 309.2 µm

< 90% : 406.1 µm

Additional information

In the key study, the particle distribution of trisodium nitrilotriacetate was measured by laser diffraction. A mean particle size is 173.4 µm, with a standard deviation of 2.532. Less than 1.21% of measured particles were in the respirable fraction (less than 4 µm diameter, and less than 2.73% are less 10 µm diameter.

The supporting study (BASF, 1997) confirms the findings of the key study.
