Description of key information

The substance is readily biodegradable as observed in a DOC Die Away test according to OECD TG 301 A.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The biodegradation potential of the substance in water was determined in a screening study according to OECD TG 301A (DOC Die Away Test) and in compliance with GLP criteria (BASFSE, 1999). In this study 20 mg/L test substance (expressed as DOC) was inoculated with non-adapted activated sludge from a domestic sewage treatment plant for 15 days under aerobic conditions. After 10 days degradation was 93%. After the 15-day incubation period the substance was biodegraded almost completely (90 - 100%). Based on these results the substance can be classified as readily biodegradable.
