Description of key information

Photodegradation is a process were light or light and reactive species such as oxygen- or hydroxyl radicals lead to a degradation of a substance. Carbon black is inorganic and substantially elemental carbon (C). It cannot be degraded further and therefore it is not photodegradable in surface water.
