Description of key information

Photodegradation is a process were light or light and reactive species such as oxygen- or hydroxylradicals lead to a degradation of a substance.

Carbon black is inorganic and substantially elemental carbon (C). It cannot further be degraded and therefore it is not photodegradable in air or surface water. In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI the study is scientifically unjustified.
