Description of key information

The theoretical boiling point of pure hydrogen peroxide (100% w/w) was determined by interpolation of vapour pressure composition curves. A boiling point of 150.2 degrees at 1013 hPa was determined.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
423.2 K

Additional information

Handbook data on the boiling point of hydrogen peroxide are available (Schumb et al. 1955). The theoretical boiling point of pure hydrogen peroxide (100% w/w) was determined by interpolation of vapour pressure composition curves. A boiling point of 150.2 degrees at 1013 hPa was determined. The boiling point of aqueous solutions of hydrogen peroxide is between that of water (100 °C) and that of pure hydrogen peroxide at atmospheric pressure. It increases steadily with increasing concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the solution.
