Bulk density: An empty and clean glass cylinder was weighed (m1). The cylinder was then filled up with the sample avoiding shacking or tapping the cylinder. The cylinder wan not compress or vibrate. The filled cylinder was then weighed (m2). Three samles per type of mill scale material were analyised and bulk density calculated as: density= (m2-m1)/V (V=volume of cylinder) Particle density: An empty and clean glass cylinder was weighed (m1). The cylinder was then filled up with a portion of mill scale (m2) Water was added to the cylinder with the mill scale and allowed to shaje for a whilThe cylinder was then completely filled with water and the mill scale allowed to sink. The volume of the mill scale was recorded (V) and the particle density calculated as: density= (m2-m1)/V (V=volume of the mill scale under the water)
