Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity data (LC50 or EC50) generated from all three trophic levels provided acute values in the range of 0.1 to 10 mg/L. Algal 72 h NOEC based on growth rate is 0.24 mg/L. Diphenyl ether is readily biodegradable. According to GHS classification guidance, diphenyl ether is classified as Acute Aquatic 1 (Very toxic to aquatic life) and Chronic Aquatic 3 (Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects).
