Description of key information
Testing is considered not to be required as based on chemical structure and daily use it can be concluded that of 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol is non flammable.

Pyrophoricity. In the daily use and handling of 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol during which continuous exposure to air can occur, no spontaneous ignition behavious is known by the manufacturer. The absence of structural alerts furthermore confirms that it is highly unlikely that 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol has pyrophoric properties.
Flammability in contact with water. No events of ignition and/or liberation of flammable gases under conditions where 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol is in contact with water, are known by the manufacturer. The absence of structural alerts furthermore confirms that it is highly unlikely that 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol is flammable in contact with water.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The chemical structure of 3-Chloro-1,2 propane diol does not contain any groups associated with high flammability when coming in contact with air or water as given in the literature. There is also no such behaviour known by the manufacturer, based on the daily use and handling of the substance.
