Description of key information

The self-ignition temperature for tar acids, methylphenol fraction is 530 °C (read-across).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There is no experimental data of self-ignition temperature for this substance available.

The value of self-ignition temperature is obtained by using read-across estimation based on the available data for cresol isomers (m, p, o-cresol) and two other types of cresol mixtures (mix-cresol CAS 1319 -77 -3 and reaction mass of m- and p-cresol EC no. 906 -151 -7). The key value is taken from the study of reaction mass of m- and p-cresol, which reported the worst case among all available data.
