PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

o-Cresol, m-cresol and p-cresol are neither PBT nor vPvB substances. Since tar acids, methylphenol fraction are expected to have the same properties as the single cresol isomers they are judge neither to exert PBT nor vPvB characteristics. Characterisation of emission therefore is not necessary.

The relevant PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic) criteria according to the REACH regulation and the corresponding properties of the cresols are compiled in the attached CSR.

Likely routes of exposure:

Because the substance does not fulfill the PBT and vPvB criteria, no emission characterization needs to be performed.
