Conclusion on classification

Classification and labelling according to aquatic toxicity data

Acute tests have been performed in fish, daphnia, and algae. EC50-values were in the range of 1-10 mg/L. Therefore, a classification related to risk phrase R51 (H401) can be established.

 

Classification and labelling according to degradation and bioaccumulation

o-Cresol, m-cresol, and p-cresol are readily biodegradable and have a low potential for bioaccumulation. Therefore, a classification related to risk phrase R53 can be ruled out.

 

Since substances showing L(E)C50 values ranging between 1-10 mg/L are only classified in combination with long lasting effects o-cresol, m-cresol, and p-cresol have no environmental classification.
