PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Diethylamine (CAS 109 -89 -7) is not PBT or vPvB.

In a modified MITI test, diethylamine was readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria, NITE 1988, see IUCLID Ch. 5.2.1) and therefore not P/vP.

The substance is not B/vB based on a log Kow of 0.58 (weight-of-evidence approach; measured value from database Beilstein 2007, see IUCLID Ch. 4.7). In addition, in a weight-of-evidence approach, several QSAR models showed that diethylamine does not accumulate significantly in organisms. The estimated BCF values range from 1.55 to 11.9 L/kg based on valid data from four QSAR models (see IUCLID Ch. 5.3.1).The substance is also not T since the lowest available chronic value is >> 0.01 mg/L and the substance holds no relevant classification.
