First-aid measures

If inhaled : Move to fresh air. Consult a physician if necessary.
In case of skin contact : Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes.
In case of eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Consult a physician.
If swallowed : Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
General advice : Call a physician immediately. Symptoms of poisoning may not appear for several hours. Keep under medical supervision for at least 48 hours.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide, Water spray jet, Alcohol-resistant foam
Unsuitable extinguishing media : High volume water jet
Specific hazards during fire fighting : Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Further information : Standard procedure for chemical fires. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use personal protective equipment. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Avoid and prevent all contact and exposure. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
Environmental precautions : Prevent product from entering environment and drains.
Methods for cleaning up : Collect mechanically and dispose in suitable container for disposal. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling : Keep container tightly closed. Avoid dust formation. In case of strong dust development use dust costumes.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion : No special protective measures against fire required.
Requirements for storage areas and containers : Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and wellventilated place.
Advice on common storage : No special restrictions on storage with other products.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Hand protection :
Protective gloves : Viton (R) Break through time: > 480 min; Nitrile rubber Break through time: > 480 min
Body protection :
Wear suitable protective clothing and rubber boots
Eye protection :
Safety glasses
Respiratory protection :
No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required
Control parameters :
The TLV for biologically inert suspensions applies:
inhalable dust fraction: 10 mg/m³ (Austria + Germany)
alveolar dust fraction: 5 mg/m³ (Austria), 3 mg/m³ (Germany)

Stability and reactivity

No decomposition if used as directed.
Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Hazardous reactions : Exothermic reaction with strong acids.
Conditions to avoid : Temperature > 150 °C
In heat violent hydrolysis reaction with water.
Materials to avoid : Acids
Hazardous decomposition products (under fire conditions): ammonia, nitrogen oxides (NOx), arbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide
Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapours.
Thermal decomposition : ca.231 °C

Disposal considerations

Product : Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration. Contact the proper local authorities. Contact manufacturer. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not dispose of waste into sewer.
European waste code: 16 05 08 (discarded organic chemicals consisting of or containing dangerous substances)
Contaminated packaging : In accordance with local and national regulations.
