In the key study according to EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient) the log Kow of 1,3-Propanediamine, N-(3-aminopropyl)- (CAS 56-18-8) was experimentally determined to be -1.25 at 25 °C and pH 11 (BASF AG, 1989; report: BRU 89.022).

In a supporting study conducted similarly to OECD 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method), the log Kow was -4.96 at 20 °C

(Kobayashi et al., 1997).

In addition, the experimental key value is supported by calculations using the ALOGPS 2.1 estimation model (log Kow = -1.11 at 20 °C; BASF SE, 2013) and KOWWIN v1.68, implemented in the EPISuite estimation tool v4.11 (log Kow = -1.15 at 25°; BASF SE, 2017).
