Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

Eye Contact:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Skin Contact:

Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.

Ingestion:

If swallowed, call a physician immediately. Only induce vomiting at the instruction of a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Inhalation:

Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.Obtain medical advice if there are persistent symptoms.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Use water spray or fog, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

None known

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Protective Equipment:

Firefighters, and others exposed, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full firefighting protective clothing. See Section Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Where exposure level is not known, wear approved, positive pressure, self-contained respirator. Where exposure level is known, wear approved respirator suitable for level of exposure. Refer to Section Exposure Controls/Personal Protection) for appropriate personal protective equipment.

Environmental Precautions:

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Sweep up into containers for disposal. Do not flush away with water. Prevent liquid entering sewers.

References to other sections:

See Sections Exposure Controls/Personal Protection and Disposal considerations for additional information.

Exposure controls / personal protection

EXPOSURE CONTROLS

Engineering Measures:

Where this material is not used in a closed system, good enclosure and local exhaust ventilation should be provided to control exposure when spraying or curing at elevated temperatures.

Respiratory Protection:

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. A full facepiece respirator also provides eye and face protection.

Eye protection:

Wear eye/face protection such as chemical splash proof goggles or face shield. Eyewash equipment and safety shower should be provided in areas of potential exposure.

Skin Protection:

Wear impermeable gloves and suitable protective clothing. Barrier creams may be used in conjunction with the gloves to provide additional skin protection.

Hand protection:

Wear impermeable gloves. Consider the porosity and elasticity data of the glove manufacturer and the specific conditions in the work place. Barrier creams may help to protect the exposed areas of the skin, they should however not be applied once exposure has occurred.

The chemical resistance depends on the type of product and amount of product on the glove. Therefore gloves need to be changed when in contact with chemicals.

Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature, abrasion) the practical usage of a chemical protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.

Additional Advice:

Food, beverages, and tobacco products should not be carried, stored, or consumed where this material is in use. Before eating, drinking, or smoking, wash face and hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Disposal considerations

Waste Treatment Methods

The Company encourages the recycle, recovery and reuse of materials, where permitted.  If disposal is necessary, The Company recommends that organic materials, especially when classified as hazardous waste, be disposed of by thermal treatment or incineration at approved facilities. All local and national regulations should be followed.

Product / Packaging disposal:

Used packaging must be considered as hazardous chemical waste and be disposed of by incineration at approved facilities.
