Description of key information

An OECD 207 study with Eisenia fetida showed that the EC50 / NOEC was > 1000 mg/kg soil dw. Moreover, in all cases the RCRs calculated for the soil compartment were < 1 and therefore, under the current exposure conditions, 4,4´-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)bis(2-chloroaniline) (CAS No. 107934-68-9) does not pose a risk to terrestrial organisms

Additional information

Since the substance is classified as toxic for aquatic organisms, an assessment of the potential hazard of 4,4´-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene) bis(2-chloroaniline) to terrestrial species is performed as well. The environmental exposure assessment performed for this substance (see CSR attached to IUCLID section 13) shows that indeed the Risk Characterization Ratio (i. e. PEC/PNEC ratio) in the soil compartment is < 1 and therefore, under the current exposure conditions, 4,4´-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)bis(2-chloroaniline) (CAS No. 107934-68-9) does not pose a risk to terrestrial organisms and further testing is not deemed necessary according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, section 3.
